Fast Estimate ("Fast Estimate," "we," "us," or "our") is operated by Fast Estimate LLC. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our website and application (the "Service").
1. Information We Collect
Account information. When you create a Fast Estimate account, we collect your name, company name, email address, password (stored encrypted), and optionally your contractor license number and company logo.
Estimate and customer data. When you use Fast Estimate to create job estimates, we collect information you provide about your customers (homeowners), including their name, phone number, email address, and service address, along with job details (job type, square footage, system age, notes) and photos you upload of equipment or job sites.
E-signatures. When a homeowner signs an estimate through our signing page, we collect and store the signature image and a timestamp.
Payment information. If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment is processed by Stripe, Inc. We do not store your full credit card number — Stripe handles payment processing and storage in accordance with its own privacy policy and PCI-DSS compliance standards. We retain limited billing metadata (such as your Stripe customer ID and subscription status) to manage your account.
Usage and analytics data. We use Google Analytics (GA4) and Google Ads to understand how visitors use our website and to measure the effectiveness of our advertising. These services may collect information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, and pages visited. You can learn more about Google's data practices at Google's Privacy Policy.
AI processing. When you generate an estimate, the job details and notes you enter are sent to a third-party AI service provider (Anthropic) to generate suggested line items and pricing. We do not use this data to train AI models, and Anthropic processes this data in accordance with its own data handling policies as our service provider.
2. How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Service
- Generate AI-assisted estimates based on the job details you provide
- Process payments and manage subscriptions
- Communicate with you about your account, including service updates and support
- Improve and analyze the performance of the Service
- Measure and improve our marketing efforts
3. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information or your customers' personal information to third parties.
We share information with the following categories of service providers as necessary to operate the Service:
- Supabase — for authentication, database hosting, and file storage
- Stripe — for payment processing
- Anthropic — for AI-assisted estimate generation
- Google (Analytics, Ads) — for website analytics and advertising measurement
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our legal rights, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of business assets, in which case we will take reasonable steps to ensure continued protection of your information.
4. Data Retention
We retain your account information and estimate data for as long as your account is active. If you cancel your account, we may retain estimate and customer records for a reasonable period afterward for legal, accounting, or dispute-resolution purposes, after which they will be deleted or anonymized.
5. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you. To make such a request, contact us using the information in Section 9.
If you are a homeowner whose information was entered into Fast Estimate by a contractor and you have questions or concerns about how your information is being used, please contact the contractor directly, or contact us and we will assist in routing your request.
6. Data Security
We use industry-standard security measures, including encryption in transit and at rest, to protect the information we collect. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Children's Privacy
Fast Estimate is a business tool intended for use by adult contractors and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
